Clear and Cold

I admit it, I did not look out the window on New Year's Day. Well, I am sure I did, but not specifically to check out our weather. Fact is, I did not know that was the Sisterhood theme til about the 7th. So from what I can remember it was clear, cold with some snow left on the ground from the day after Christmas - also known in my house as the day before the year's Most Important Holiday! Smiley

The pond in my yard never freezes completely; I expect this little girl and her pooch have found the one at the back of our property, or perhaps the one across the road. Yup, there are a lot of ponds around here, and all, but mine, are frozen.

I read somewhere that what you do on New Years is what you will do in the coming year. "Cool!", I thought, "we are going to do more socializing!" Then I realized it was not referring to New Year's Eve, but rather New Year's Day. Oh well, looks like 2011 will be much the same as 2010 as I spent the first of the year playing with my Christmas and Birthday goodies (techno gadgets), reading and watching movies. Bummer. I was really looking forward to hosting more friendly get-togethers...

Excerpts from a Cat’s Diary...
Day 983 of My Captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.
They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a “good little hunter” I am. Bastards!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of “allergies.” I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now...

My Craft Room Needs a Name

It has been a while since I blogged, and here with the New Year (again), it seems time to get back into it.

My stamp room needs a name. Every other room has a name. Not Susie or Joe, but exciting names like Living Room and Princess A's Bedroom. We do have an itty room with a(n unwatched) TV in it that has come to be referred to as the Den. I tried recently to rechristen it the Office, because Main Squeeze does have a desk and computer in there, but that just does not seem to be going anywhere. Since I stamp everything I make with a red wolf, Den seems appropriate, but we cannot have two Dens. How about Wolf's Den, you ask. Well, not too far away there is a casino, two of 'em actually, but this one in particular has ads for the Wolf Den. I cannot have a craft room with the same name as a smoking, drinking, gambling joint, although I did tell my doctor the other day that in my next life I was going to do all those things as well as drugs and hooking cuz refraining does not seem to have mattered health-wise, but that is another story. You can see how having that same name does not appeal... in this life at least.

I bring this plea to you, my faithful followers, as it has been more than a year now and I am stuck. What shall I name my stamping room?
